Jhony is a 10 year old boy from Guatemala that comes from a very poor family. When he was 4 years old, a horse kicked him in the face fracturing his eye orbit which required two surgeries and resulted in him losing his eye. Now that he is 10 years old, he has been without one of his eyes for the last 6 years which has been embarrassing for him in school and has made his self-conscious of his appearance. Compassion Medicine had a customized prosthetic eye made for Jhony so that he doesn’t experience embarrassing moments and gains more confidence in himself and his appearance. Jhony is all smiles now and has a renewed confidence in his appearance. His parents are overjoyed that their son will avoid embarrassment and start to live a normal life now.
