Jessica from Guatemala:
Medical Condition: Needed Prosthetic Eye
Summary: Jessica comes from a very poor family in the Guatemala. She developed a retinoblastoma (eye cancer) when she was 1 years old. In order to keep the cancer from spreading to other areas of her body and taking her life, her eye had to be removed.
Treatment Plan: Compassion Medicine was able to have a fully custom prosthetic eye made for Jessica and getting this new eye has changed her life, allowing her to avoid the stigmatism of looking different from her friends and to have a normal life. She is a happy little girl now!
