David is a 10 year old boy that comes from a very poor family in Nicaragua. He was born without one of his arms. Because he only has one arm, he has limited abilities in his daily life, including playing sports. Compassion Medicine  partnered with the prosthetics lab at Shriner’s Hospital to have a fully custom prosthetic arm/hand made for David and he was taught how to use it for everyday life activities, including playing sports. Getting this new arm has changed his life, allowing David to play with his friends, and has provided him with hope as well as a big smile to go with it.
